Dakgalbi is a local specialty in Chuncheon, Korea, in which chicken and vegetables are stir-fried with a spicy gochujang based sauce. The combination of the special sauce and cheese makes the dish more delicious. Dakgalbi is also popular in Vancouver!
Korean cuisine is largely based on rice, vegetables, and meats. Traditional Korean meals are named for the number of side dishes that accompany steam-cooked short-grain rice. Kimchi is served at nearly every meal. Commonly used ingredients include sesame oil, doenjang (soybean paste), soy sauce, salt, garlic, ginger, pepper flakes, gochujang (red chili paste) and napa cabbage.
